The rural inn is a stunning little gem, architecturally interesting and simple, rustic and elegant. The surroundings are tranquil and quite beautiful and the sweep of land down to the sea is dramatic. Breakfast was charming and ample, and we were treated very well, very discreetly.
We're not convinced this is a place that gives you good value for your money. Each room is decorated differently, but none of them seems to be kept up well: holes in the screens, light switches that don't work, and limited amenities. We slept fitfully both nights because of mosquitoes and the need to close up the windows and doors so it became quite close in the room. These kinds of issues seem so basic, and one would like to think they'd be easy to address and maintain, especially for the prices being exacted for a night's stay. Because it's such a lovely spot and so tastefully done, we can only half-heartedly recommend La Almendra y El Gitano to other travellers.

Beautiful. Well restored buildings and well tended gardens. LOVED the extremely comfortable large bed with the fan directly above it. Exceptional views from the large picture window in front of our fresh tap water (no chemicals) bedroom jacuzzi. Peace, quiet and chilled out vibe. A real treat, unobtrusive customer service and help yourself to kitchen facilities which was useful after buying gourmet treats. Spotlessly clean. Thank you for the extra effort giving us the suite of our choice. I highly recommend the room with the black jacuzzi. Many thanks
Although we didn't use the air con because even staying during mid July we only needed to have the fan on the thought of having to pay extra for air con seemed a little unnecessary but I guess it discourages guests wasting energy.
